Did you know that April is
Autism Awareness Month?!

~*~  Here are some tips on what can you do to spread the word ~*~

Post flyers up at your local businesses, such as the supermarket,
deli, etc. You can create these yourselves by typing autism
information on colored paper.

Contact your local library and see if they will create an autism display. This can be either a table or a bulletin board. If they can create a table,
lay out flyers and books, or any other type of information.

Also, some libraries tend to have outdated books. Try donating a book or
two about autism.

Contact your local video store and ask if they will create a
movie display. Movies like Rainman, Molly, etc. can be displayed
for patrons to rent.

If your child has an "NT" sibling, go to their school in April
and read a children’s autism book to the class. There are many
kinds, such as Matthew and His Yellow Frisbee.

Make Autism Awareness Ribbons. These are very simple to make. You can buy the ribbons, glue the ribbons and the pin backing and Tada! These can be passed out to family and friends to wear in the month of April or all the time.  They make a great conversational piece.

If funds permit, purchase various caps, t-shirts, pins, etc. to wear.  These always attract attention. Bumper stickers are pretty cool too!

Never think that whatever you do is too small.

Any little thing helps!
