It is with a sad and heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved pet, Winston. We were blessed to have Winston in our lives for 17 years. He was with us through our wedding, the birth of our children, holidays, Ariel's diagnoses and the good and hard times. He was a beloved companion and family member.

Winston started to fall ill about 2 years ago when he was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. As the months progressed he started to vomit more and more. This caused him to lose much of his body weight and eventually his pancreas and liver started to shut down. I could not stand to see my fur child suffer any more.

We decided to make the excruciatingly painful decision to put him down. On Friday, August 11, 2006 at 2:20 p.m. Winston crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will always love and miss you.

Please know my love that although you are long gone from our lives you will never be absent from our hearts. Until we meet again.

Four Feet In Heaven

Your favorite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
Ecstatically to meet me.
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding.
I've put away your bowl, and all
The things you won't be needing;
But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure
The happiness you brought me,
The comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow;
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In Heaven's bright tomorrow...
